Hilltopper Creamery & Farm Market

Hilltopper Creamery & Farm Market provides award-winning artisan cheese, fresh & dry aged beef, greenhouse plants, and seasonally available fruits and vegetables to the community, local businesses, and our Farm to Campus Program to serve on campus! We are a value-added retail market located on the WKU Farm that displays farm fresh products produced alongside students as part of their educational experience within WKU’s Agriculture and Food Science Department. The Hilltopper Creamery was established to demonstrate that small family dairy farms are not a thing of the past because producers do not need a large herd to be successful in the dairy industry. They can continue to exist and thrive by producing and directly selling value-added products such as cheese, yogurt, ice cream etc. Our facility demonstrates this by producing artisan cheese from our own 50-60 head milking operation. Students gain a variety of guided Agritourism experiences through facility and farm tours, event management, community workshops, educational seminars, and conferences. Events include student and community group tours, cheese making classes, guided cheese tastings, charcuterie board grazing events, farmers markets, community fundraising pop-up markets, local festivals, and hosted conferences.
